The lowest price almost never stays the lowest price
I manage purchasing for a mid-sized company—mostly construction supplies and maintenance materials. I process about 60-70 orders a year across 7 different vendors. A while back, I sourced a budget epoxy sealer for a floor coating project. Price was great. I thought, 'smart procurement,' and ordered 40 gallons. I want a price I can trust, not a price that hides the cost. If a vendor like Mapei says 'this adhesive needs this primer, this epoxy sealer needs this substrate prep, and this sealant needs this gun,' I can plan for that. That's the lowest total cost.
Cheap is cheap. Transparent is trusted. And trusted costs less in the end.
